Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Layrs platform, desktop agent, API, or any associated services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Layrs reserves the right to update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

Layrs is a cryptographic proof-of-creation platform. The Service includes a desktop agent that captures screen recordings, keystroke entropy, and mouse movement patterns; processes that data locally into cryptographic hashes and signatures; and a cloud platform that stores verification metadata and provides creator proof scores.

3. Desktop Agent & Consent

The Layrs desktop agent operates on your device with your explicit consent. By installing and activating the agent, you acknowledge and agree that it will:

• Capture screen recordings of your creative workflow
• Record keystroke timing entropy and mouse movement patterns
• Process all captured data locally on your machine
• Generate cryptographic hashes using a dual-hash Merkle chain with Secure Enclave signing
• Transmit only hashes, cryptographic signatures, and metadata to Layrs servers — never raw screen data

You may disable or uninstall the agent at any time. Doing so will stop new proof generation but will not affect previously submitted verification data.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to falsify, manipulate, or fabricate proof of creation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the cryptographic verification process
• Submit hashes or metadata derived from another person’s creative work as your own
• Use automated tools to generate artificial proof scores
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or connected networks
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

Layrs reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

5. Intellectual Property

Your work is yours. Layrs does not claim ownership over any creative work you produce. The Service exists to verify and attest to your creative process — not to acquire rights to your output.

By using the Service, you grant Layrs a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process the cryptographic hashes, signatures, and metadata necessary to provide verification services. This license does not extend to your underlying creative work, raw screen data, or any other content that remains on your device.

The Layrs name, logo, scoring algorithms, and platform technology are the intellectual property of Layrs and may not be used without written permission.

6. Proof Scores & Verification

Creator proof scores are generated algorithmically based on cryptographic evidence of creative process. Scores are probabilistic indicators — not absolute guarantees — of authentic creation. Layrs does not warrant that scores are error-free or that the scoring methodology will remain unchanged over time.

Scores may be recalculated as our algorithms improve. Layrs is not liable for any decisions made by third parties based on proof scores.

7. Verification API (VaaS)

The Layrs Verification-as-a-Service API allows authorized third parties to query and verify creator proof scores. API users agree to:

• Use API access only for legitimate verification purposes
• Not cache, redistribute, or resell verification data beyond reasonable operational needs
• Comply with all applicable rate limits and usage policies
• Not use API data to discriminate against, harass, or harm creators

Layrs may revoke API access at its discretion for violations of these terms or the API-specific documentation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Layrs and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from reliance on proof scores.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Layrs may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; however, cryptographic proofs already anchored in the verification chain remain immutable and cannot be deleted.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
